Completion of the road and bridge rehabilitation project will take several years and involve a number of steps. The project will require a wide variety of permits and approvals, in addition to the Federal Highway Administration’s authorization. Concurrent with the development of an environmental document as required under the National Environmental Policy Act, DOT&PF will identify required permits, obtain agency views on the proposed alternatives, and refine engineering information.

Any potential right-of-way acquisition and construction will begin after the environmental document has been completed and required permits have been obtained.

Anticipated Environmental Review Schedule:

  • Fall 2011—Public and agency scoping
  • Fall 2012—Field studies complete
  • Spring 2013—Environmental Assessment available for public and agency comment / public hearing
  • Summer 2013—Final decisional document complete
